Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a stalwart at the back for Celtic since arriving at the club in the summer of 2021. Initially, he was brought in on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and most people were unsure how he would perform, considering he had never made the grade there. But the American quickly established himself as a starter in Ange Postecoglou's team and has not looked back since.
Celtic would sign Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis the following summer. He has had quite a few injury problems since then but overall, remains the club's most important defender.
Carter-Vickers has recently been linked with a move away though. He is rumoured to be on the radar of Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen but it has also been claimed that the American is not looking to leave Parkhead in the middle of the season.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are prepared to accept an offer for Carter-Vickers if their transfer asking fee is met. The Hoops are set to demand a figure of £20-25million for any interested clubs.
Celtic will accept Cameron Carter-Vickers bid on one condition
Celtic fans will not be happy if Carter-Vickers does indeed leave the club. But there is always an understanding that an exit is possible for the right fee at all times.
Just in the summer, we saw Matt O'Riley leave after being Celtic's best player, and by far, in the previous campaign. In the past, several others have done the same and it is not expected to change moving forward. That is the model at Parkhead.
Celtic have issues at the back right now. Liam Scales was heavily criticised for his performance at Ibrox and does not look like the long-term answer there. On the other hand, Auston Trusty has not been the most convincing since his summer arrival from Sheffield United.
