Celtic are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland with pretty much everything agreed. But even if the move transpires, it is believed that Brendan Rodgers plans to feature him in the number 10 role. On the other hand, the Hoops are continuing their search for another winger.

Recently, it emerged that talks to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha have stalled over Royal Antwerp's asking price. Now, there is further bad news for Celtic as they aim to add to their ranks on the wings.

Sondre Orjasaeter is another winger Celtic have been linked with in recent times. They made a failed bid to sign him in the winter. And now, it looks like they are losing further ground in the race for his signature.

As reported by TV Sport 2 (via CeltsAreHere), it could now take a bid in excess of £11 million to sign Orjasaeter from Sarpsborg 08. Also, PSV have made a strong push to sign the winger and are said to be leading the race for his signature.

Let's see what the future holds for Orjasaeter. It is hard to imagine that Celtic will go out and spend that kind of transfer fee on a player who is largely unproven at the top level. So, expect the Hoops to turn their attention elsewhere if Sarpsborg 08 are indeed looking for a £11 million figure.

Celtic have been linked with a few other wingers in recent times as well. And do not be surprised if several other names crop up over the coming days and weeks.

A lot could depend on the future of Nicolas Kuhn as well. He has been heavily linked with a move away but if he stays, perhaps the Hoops won't splash out in that area of the pitch.
