Cameron Carter-Vickers makes injury claim after Celtic return
Celtic fans were delighted to see Cameron Carter-Vickers return to the pitch in the game against Motherwell away at Fir Park. The American international did not start the game but was brought on as a 68th-minute substitute. It would be an understatement to say that the Hoops missed him during his time on the sidelines, out with an injury.
Initially, the feeling was that Carter-Vickers would return to the pitch soon after it was revealed that he was dealing with a toe injury. But it took him much longer to get back to full fitness.
Carter-Vickers has had his fair share of injury issues, dating back to the 22/23 season. When he is on the pitch, Celtic are a much better team though and hopefully, he remains fit for the foreseeable future.
As it turns out, Carter-Vickers had been dealing with his injury for a while before he took time off. While speaking with Sky Sports, he said:
"I had it for a little while, I had it for a few months now, but I was kind of playing with it. It was kind of time to rest it and get it right, so that’s what I did."

For the most part, Celtic's defence looked shaky in the absence of Carter-Vickers. It will be interesting to see how they shape up, now that he is back to fitness.
One would imagine that Carter-Vickers would be a nailed-on starter in the heart of the Celtic defence. Auston Trusty and Liam Scales will be competing for the other centre-back spot.
That might be a tough choice for Brendan Rodgers to make. On one hand, Scales has been a regular starter since last season and put in some solid performances for the club. He often does not get the plaudits that he deserves, perhaps because he is not a flashy name. On the other hand, Trusty was brought in from Sheffield United on deadline day of the recent summer transfer window for a fee believed to be in the region of £6 million.
