Most Celtic fans are viewing the draw against Club Brugge as an opportunity missed for the Hoops. With several big teams dropping points in the Champions League on this matchday, a win would have boosted the club's chances of making it to the next phase of the competition. Brendan Rodgers' side did show a lot of character to bounce back after a shaky first half in which they went down to a horror Cameron Carter-Vickers own goal.

The result leaves Celtic with eight points after the first five games. That is a good spot but their playoff spot is nowhere near guaranteed at this point.

With two away games remaining, and one of them being against Aston Villa, the Hoops will have to do their best to make it to the next phase of the competition. And they have been urged to drop one of their starters.

Arne Engels was signed for a club-record fee in the summer. But for many, he has not met expectations since arriving. There have been good performances here and there but also those in which he has gone missing.

A report from The Herald goes on to read:

"Engels started and played his part in both of those Champions League victories. But it is time for Rodgers to take him off the front line and give Bernardo the chance to show what he is capable of against top class continental opposition."

Engels is a tidy midfielder without a doubt. But right now, he is not doing enough to fill the boots of someone like Matt O'Riley, who consistently produced goals and assists for Celtic last season.

The fact that Celtic shelled out a record fee to sign Engels means that he will get the chances to find his feet at Celtic. But at the same time, it is important to play in-form players in important Champions League. And right now, Paulo Bernardo seems to be a much more effective presence in midfield when compared to the Belgian international.
