Celtic could only manage a 1-1 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League. A Cameron Carter-Vickers own goal meant that the Hoops fell a goal behind in what was a shaky first-half display from Brendan Rodgers' side. They did improve a lot after the break and it was Daizen Maeda's wonderful effort that got them back on level terms.

The Hoops could not find a winner. But taking the whole game into account, perhaps a draw was a fair result after all.

Club Brugge deserve credit for the job that they did in the face of the Parkhead atmosphere. Celtic had won both their previous two home games this season, against RB Leipzig and Slovan Bratislava.

Club Brugge's Maxim De Cuyper was impressed with the atmosphere that he witnessed in Glasgow. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Belgian international said to his club's official website:

"It does something to you as a human being, to stand here. The shouting at the anthem was also impressive. It did something to me as well."

Celtic might not be completely satisfied with the draw but one point is not the worst result in the Champions League. It leaves the Hoops with eight points after the first five games.

They now have three games left in this phase of the competition. Two of them look winnable, at least on paper, against Dinamo Zagreb and BSC Young Boys. On the other hand, another is an away trip against Aston Villa.

It will be interesting to see how Celtic navigate these remaining games. There are no easy games at this level. But at the same time, the Hoops have to believe that they have the ability to win against any team as well, as they have shown vs RB Leipzig already. So, let's see how things play out from here. They need to make the most of the Parkhead atmosphere if they want to.
