It was not too long ago that rumours had broken out that Celtic and Brendan Rodgers were considering the idea of bringing back Odsonne Edouard this summer. Of course, the club have been very open to reuniting with familiar faces in recent times. Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Jota are some names that belong on that list. Now, it looks like they have taken their first step towards trying to sign the French striker.

Odsonne Edouard had left Celtic in the summer of 2021 to join Crystal Palace. In the four seasons that have followed, he has managed to score only 21 goals combined. Just for comparison, he scored more than that in three of his four campaigns with the Hoops.

Things might not have worked out for Edouard in the Premier League but he is proven at Celtic. He has no concerning injury history and at 27 years of age, should be entering his prime years on the pitch.

If Celtic can bring back Edouard at this point in his career, it would have to be considered a major coup. And it looks like the Hoops are now starting to work on a potential move this summer.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Celtic are in contact with Edouard's agents. They are exploring a move to bring him back to Glasgow.

Of course, finding an agreement might prove difficult. It is believed that they are looking to recoup the transfer fee they paid to sign Edouard from Celtic. It is safe to say that the Hoops won't be willing to do that.

Celtic are considering a loan deal with a contract offer in January. Of course, that plan would not suit Crystal Palace. Edouard has only a year left on his deal with the Eagles and they would not want to see him leave as a free agent.
