This has been a summer in which we have seen plenty of former Celtic players move, or could still do. Jeremie Frimpong is now at Liverpool. His transfer from Bayer Leverkusen did land the Hoops a significant sell-on fee. Kyogo is now at Birmingham City. Juventus are believed to be advancing as they try to sign Matt O'Riley from Brighton & Hove Albion, a year after his Parkhead exit. Odsonne Edouard seems to be headed to OGC Nice. And now, it is time to add another name to the list.
That name is of Ben Doak. It was three years ago that he left Celtic to join Liverpool. Since then, he has made 10 appearances for the Reds.
Chances of him getting significantly more gametime at Liverpool next season are slim. So, it might be time for a change of scenery, although he is still just 19 years of age.
As reported by Anthony Joseph, Bournemouth are close to agreeing a £25 million deal with Liverpool for Doak. All parties hope for an agreement this weekend.

This has been a tough summer window for the Cherries. Bournemouth have seen a number of their key players depart and need to find replacements for them.
It remains to be seen if they are able to agree a deal for Doak. At this point in time, it does seem pretty likely though, unless there is an unexpected twist in the tale soon.
Of course, one can only wonder how things would have turned out for Doak if he had stayed on at Celtic rather than leaving for Liverpool. He had already made a couple of senior appearances for the club at just 16 years of age under the management of Ange Postecoglou and seemed headed for the top.
