There is finally some movement at Celtic after weeks of waiting. Martin O'Neill deserves a ton of credit for the job that he has done so far as the interim manager, and it looks like he might still be in charge for a couple more games. But the 73-year-old club icon was never going to be a long-term solution for the Hoops.

Now, there were many that had hoped that O'Neill would be kept in charge until the Scottish League Cup final. Of course, the chance to see him win one last trophy with Celtic was going to be special. And then again, there is the risk that a new manager derails the momentum that has been built up over the past few weeks, with the Hoops winning four domestic games on the trot, including a Glasgow Derby.

Celtic have decided against it though. They look set to bring in Wilfried Nancy by next week. He is not going to be coming along either.

As reported by Anthony Joseph, Nancy’s assistant Kwame Ampadu is also set to join Celtic. The club hope to complete the deals before the weekend, with the Frenchman due to take over next week.

Ampadu was a manager at the youth levels at Arsenal for about six years. Other than that, he also played for the club but was not able to establish himself as a key player in the senior team and eventually ended up at other English teams, although not as high-profile.

It is good to see that Celtic are allowing Nancy to bring in his backroom staff along with him. In the past, we have seen them not do that for other managers. Ange Postecoglou is the perfect example of that, although it did not stop him from succeeding.

One can only hope that Nancy enjoys similar success at Parkhead. Comparisons have been drawn between their journeys and their style of football.
