Life at Tottenham Hotspur has not been what Ange Postecoglou would have imagined when he left Celtic, days after winning a treble, to make the move to the Premier League. Right now, Spurs find themselves sitting at 14th in the table and the only reason they are not in a relegation contest is because none of the bottom three have been competitive.

Postecoglou's future with Tottenham Hotspur is in serious doubt, though. It is more than likely that he will be shown the exit door come the end of the season, unless he is able to win the Europa League title.

Tottenham have actually shown a lot more patience with Postecoglou than they have done with bigger names like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte in the past. Perhaps they have decided to stick with the Australian because they want to wait until the summer to make a change, as more managers will be available then and making an appointment would be easier.

As for Postecoglou, it is hard to see where he goes from here. Would another Premier League side be willing to give him a chance after what we have seen at Tottenham over the past two seasons?

Ange Postecoglou tipped to make blockbuster Celtic return

Amid his troubles at Tottenham Hotspur, Postecoglou has been tipped to make an eventual return to Celtic Park. As reported by the Glasgow Times, former Greece international Giorgios Karagounis said:

"Ange Postecoglou did a great job with Celtic, a fantastic job, so one day I think we will see him back there."

He does not believe that a Celtic return is on the cards immediately though. The former Greek international added:

"Having said that, at the moment, he is at another great team in Tottenham, and of course, he’s coaching in the Premier League, so I don’t think he’ll want to go back to Scotland straight away."

Celtic currently will be happy to have Brendan Rodgers in the hot seat. The club are in contention to win another treble this season. But the Northern Irishman's current contract runs out in the summer of 2026 and there are question marks over whether he will remain at Parkhead beyond that.

If Rodgers does leave at that point and Postecoglou is available, bringing him back would make all the sense in the world. For now, the focus has to be on the present though. For Celtic, the aim has to be winning the treble. For Tottenham, it will be on the Europa League.
