A reported Celtic target from earlier in the window is now headed elsewhere, with Dundee United star Will Ferry about to join Belgian side Anderlecht.
The Bhoys are on the lookout for a new left-back after deciding not to sign Marcelo Saracchi on a permanent deal. The Uruguayan was available for just £1.5million, but the Hoops decided not to press ahead with a deal, and they remain with just one senior left-back in injury-prone Kieran Tierney.
Celtic will ultimately sign another left-back - they have little choice - and Dundee's Ferry has been linked on and off through the window , but we now know he will not be heading to Parkhead.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht are now closing in on a deal to sign Ferry. He posted on X: "RSC Anderlecht are in advanced talks with Dundee United to complete the signing of Will Ferry.
"The Mauves have already submitted an offer and are negotiating a deal worth around €2.5m, including bonuses. Ferry has already given the green light."
Ferry is another player who could have been signed for cheap, for just £2.1m, and he is a player who is tried and tested at Premiership level, but it is unclear whether he was ever a serious Celtic target.
The Bhoys are surprisingly relaxed about the left-back situation. While they know they need one, it does not appear to be at the top of their list.
The club is already worried about the upcoming Champions League qualifiers on August 18 and 25, and they are refusing to sell certain players before that date. What's strange is that they are in no rush to sign a left-sided defender, but if Tierney picks up a knock, they could find themselves in trouble for the play-off.
Other defenders can fill in, but Celtic are only one bad moment away from going into those games without a good option. That needs to be addressed.
