It's likely to be a busy summer for Celtic as they look to bolster their squad and replace potential departures ahead of the new season. Martin O'Neill was clear in wanting promises of significant recruitment before taking the job, and it appears as though he got them.
O'Neill's late arrival meant no business was done prior to the World Cup, and it will be interesting to see if the Hoops can wrap up any deals over the course of the tournament, with players currently competing in North America likely off the market until they return, albeit that will be at varying stages over the next three weeks.
A number of players have already been linked with a move to Parkhead, though, and here we run you through the main candidates so far.
Kieron Bowie
Scottish centre-forward Kieron Bowie is a recent link. Celtic undoubtedly need at least two strikers this summer, and the 23-year-old is attracting interest after a 13-goal season across his time at Hibs and Hellas Verona, also providing four assists. It's a little surprising to see Bowie linked with a move so soon after arriving in Italy, but Celtic are said to be keen.
Benjamin Tahirovic
Brondby midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic has been linked with the Bhoys this summer, with Celtic clearly targeting midfield signings in anticipation of Arne Engels' potential big-money departure. Tahirovic is currently with Bosnia and Herezegovina at the World Cup, and Celtic fans will have a close eye on him.
Ivan Basic
The same can be said of Tahirovic's Bosnia and Herezegovina midfield partner Ivan Basic, who is also said to be of interest this summer. His current club, Astana, have already said they won't stand in his way of a move, and Celtic may step up interest on the back of that.
Cole Campbell
Borussia Dortmund's young American winger Cole Campbell is one of the most recent links as he returns from a disappointing loan spell with Hoffenheim. Campbell is an interesting young prospect who is looking for a fresh start this summer.
Miguel Chaiwa
A more familiar face, Hibs holding midfielder Miguel Chaiwa has been of interest in the past and reportedly remains a target. Celtic like his energetic and physical approach in the midfield, and they may well come back to Chaiwa this summer.
Elijah Just
Motherwell winger Elijah Just is another World Cup star, and one that scored twice in his first game, no less. He also did well for Motherwell this season, scoring seven and assisting eight in the league. Celtic have been credited with an interest along with Rangers.
