The summer transfer window is now over, and Celtic ended up being particularly busy, snapping up nine new players.

But there were plenty more linked along the way, and while a couple might have slipped through the net - it has been an incredibly busy summer when it comes to Hoops transfer talk - we have rounded up all of the players linked with Celtic this summer. Here we take a look at the list and where the players actually ended up.

Alvaro Rodriguez

The Elche star was an extremely ambitious Celtic link that never looked realistic. He ended up joining AFC Bournemouth for more than £25million.

Fares Ghedjemis

Celtic were again linked with Ghedjemis, as were Rangers, but the attacker ultimately ended up staying with Frosinone.

Kieran Bowie

Bowie was being linked due to a likely Hellas Verona exit, but the talented Scot ended up joining Sassuolo on loan.

Benjamin Tahirovic

Curiously, Tahirovic was one of a number of Bosnian stars to be linked with Celtic this summer. He ended up joining Genk on loan from Brondby.

Ivan Basic

Another Bosnia and Herzegovina international, Basic stayed put with Astana.

Cole Campbell

Campbell looked to be one of the more serious links early in the window, and he did end up leaving Borussia Dortmund, but for Elversberg.

Miguel Chaiwa

Hibs were clear in wanting to keep hold of midfielder Chaiwa this summer, and they did.

Elijah Just

Just did well at the World Cup for New Zealand, and he ended up joining Swansea City down South.

Camilo Duran

Celtic got their hands on Duran, signing him for £5.5million, and he looks to be some signing.

Soma Kanda

The Japanese forward was loosely linked, and he ended up joining Tokyo Verdy on loan.

Tjark Ernst

Ernst was linked, with Celtic needing a goalkeeper, and he ended up joining Feyenoord from Hertha Berlin.

Mat Ryan

Veteran keeper Mat Ryan looked as though he would leave Levante, but he ultimately ended up extending his stay.

Jakob Breum

Attacking midfielder Breum was linked with a move to Celtic, but he ended up joining Saint-Etienne from Go Ahead Eagles.

Gvidas Gineitis

Torino midfielder was linked with Celtic all summer, and the links were serious. The Hoops tried to sign the midfielder right up until the UEFA deadline but ultimately missed out, and he stayed put.

Michael Parker

The former West Brom star caught attention for his performances for Orgyte, but he stayed put.


Nobel Mendy

An ambitious link for Celtic, the Rayo Vallecano star ended up in the Premier League with Hull City.

Dinko Horkas

One of the more serious Celtic goalkeeper links, Las Palmas star Horkas was pursued by a number of clubs this summer. He went to the UAE to play for Al Wasl.

Elliot Watt

Motherwell star Elliott Watt did end up leaving, joining Turkish club Samsunspor.

Alfie Devine

Devine was looking for a move from Spurs after doing well out on loan. He joined Preston North End on a permanent deal.

Mory Gbame

The defensive midfielder was linked with Celtic but stayed with Reims.

Haissem Hassan

Celtic did sign Haissem Hassan, who arrived on a £6million deal plus £3million in potential add-ons, from Real Oviedo.

Emam Ashour

Edgypt star Ashour was linked but ended up staying with Al-Ahly.

Adrian Blake

Blake also stayed put, remaining with Utrecht.

Kasper Dolberg

Dolberg had fresh links to Celtic after a tough first season with Ajax, but the Dutch team will give him another chance.

Aaron Malouda

The son of Florent Malouda, Aaron had been doing well with Sabah, helping them qualify for the Champions League, and he ultimately got a move to Basel.

Kasper Hogh

Hogh joined Celtic on an £11million deal that could eventually become a club-record deal if add-ons are met.

Kyogo Furuhashi

Furuhashi was linked with a return to Celtic after a tough time at Birmingham City, but he wound up joining LA Galaxy.

James Penrice

Penrice did leave AEK Athents, but he joined Rangers on a loan deal.

Mika Baur

Celtic did indeed sign Mika Baur, who looks to be a positive signing from Paderborn.

Will Ferry

Ferry was expected to leave up until the final hours of the window, but he stayed with Dundee United due to a move collapsing.

Nick Pope

No move for Pope, who didn't find a way out of Newcastle.

Claudio Braga

Braga remained with Hearts, and he will compete in Europe with them this season.

Balázs Tóth

Toth was linked with a move to Celtic, but the links were played down by Tony Mowbray. He remains Blackburn's starter.

Niko Sigur

Sigur landed his move from Hajduk Split on the back of a World Cup. He ended up joining Toulouse.

Leo Cavallius

The goalkeeper remains with Brommapojkarna.

Daniel Gore

Man Utd youngster Gore joined Luton Town on loan in League One.

Yukinari Sugawara

Sugawara was linked amid Celtic's search for a right-back. He ended up joining Italian club Cagliari .

Gavin Bazunu

The Southampton goalkeeper joined Championship newcommers Bolton Wanderers.

Yaser Asprilla

This was always a little too ambitious. Asprilla joined Galatasaray on loan.

Landon Emenalo

Emenalo did join Celtic on a loan deal from Chelsea.

Ermin Mahmic

Another Bosnia and Herzegovina international linked with Celtic, Mahmic joined Corum from Slovan Liberic.

Sam Johnstone

Celtic needed a keeper, and they got one in the form of Johnstone, who joined on a season-long loan from Wolves.

Joel van den Berg.

Van den Berg has joined Celtic on a £3.5million move from PSV Eindhoven.

Justin Devenney

Devenny did leave Crystal Palace, joining Stoke City. Celtic never made a bid.

Jordan Lotomba

The Bhoys signed Lotomba on a one-year deal from Feyenoord, paying a nominal feel for the permanent signing.

Shim Mheuka

The young Chelsea striker joined Celtic on a season-long loan.

Oliver Sorensen

Celtic snapped up midfielder Sorensen on a season-long loan from Parma.
