Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed his conversation with Joe Hart just weeks before signing a six-month Celtic deal.
In an interview with Celtic TV, the Ox said:
"I was with [Hart] a couple of weeks ago at James Milner's birthday actually. I asked him about Celtic, and that was before all of this had come about, how he found it up here, and he just said it was the best two, three years of his life that he was up here. He said he absolutely loved it. He actually suggested at the time, he was like, 'this would be perfect for you, you'd love it up there Ox,' and funny enough, here I am. I'm actually going to message him once all is said and done."
It will be no surprise to Celtic supporters that Joe Hart talks so highly about the club. The goalkeeper loved his time in Glasgow, and he has become a brilliant ambassador for the Celts.
When you sign a player, you always pray that they 'get' the club. Hart certainly did.
Getting the Ox up to speed
After six months without a game, Oxlade-Chamberlain's fitness will have certainly taken a hit. It is still up in the air when we will see him play for the Hoops, but with only six months on his deal, it will likely be sooner rather than later.
With Premier League giants Arsenal also interested in the player when he was training with them before Celtic snatched him up, that speaks volumes about his readiness. They are a side in the title race, and they would have wanted someone who could help them with that. Celtic are also in a title race, so maybe the Ox will be ready to spring into action sooner than we think.
Andy Robertson excited by move, as pop star joins the Ox in Glasgow
Andy Robertson took to Instagram after his signing was announced. He said to his teammate of six years:
"Awww yes please!! Good luck my boy."
With Robertson excited about the move and out of contract in the summer, could he also be persuaded to join the Hoops?
After almost securing a move to Tottenham Hotspur, it's now rumoured that the Liverpool left-back may actually sign a new deal with the Reds. This is just talk so far though, and no official deal has been put on the table by the Anfield side.
Celtic have long been linked to Robertson, and with his future still up in the air, a move to Glasgow is possible. Over the years, he has expressed his love for the club and how he would love to play in the green and white one day. Could that day finally be upon us?
Stepping back into the 'now' though, Oxlade-Chamberlain's fiancée, Perrie Edwards, will soon be joining him in Glasgow. The former Little Mix singer was excited by the Ox's move, with fans telling her in the replies to her comment on Instagram that she should pull on the Hoops and pay a visit to Parkhead.
