TalkSport pundit Alan Brazil has been left raging with Celtic's latest Old Firm performance. The Hoops are on a run of three straight defeats, most recently losing their second straight derby against Rangers after another flat derby performance.
Fingers have been pointed just about everywhere, and Martin O'Neill has caught his fair share of it, as have the players, who simply haven't shown the level of application required to be successful at Celtic, and especially not in a derby where so much more spirit and fight is required.
Fans have understandably been left furious with what they have seen from their team, and for now, the club remain firmly behind O'Neill, which is only right given what he has provided the club.
O'Neill says he will search for answers during this extended international break, and he needs to find some, even with the clear personnel issues he has, especially in the midfield, where Celtic are being dominated week after week, especially against the better teams.
On the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, Brazil said: “To be honest. No complaints. The best team won. Celtic were second best everywhere. Very disappointing if you are a Celtic supporter. 60,000 people went away shaking their heads.
“I think, to be honest, I think the vast majority thought we might get beat. I spoke to Ally [McCoist] after the game, I just can’t accept every loose ball they won, every 50/50 they won, even some of the balls that they didn’t deserve to win, they won. They just wanted it more.”
Turning his attention to the midfield, Brazil added: "What about the midfield? It’s garbage. I don’t like slagging people off but the midfield is garbage. No legs and no fight.
“You think of Roy Keane, Roy Aitken, my old captain, Scott Brown, another one. Even if you aren’t playing well they would be getting into each other’s faces and the other players. Second best, soft and no fight.”
