Celtic have now made the arrival of Kieran Tierney as a free agent official. The Scottish left-back returns to his boyhood club, six years after he left to join Arsenal in a league-record transfer. He saw his ups and downs in England, and at 28 years of age, is now back home. It is rare for players of his quality to spend their prime years in the Scottish Premiership.

Of course, bringing back Tierney is a major coup for Celtic. Fans will be expecting more though. And it does look like the club are now closing in on another signing.

Celtic need to strengthen their forward ranks. A lot has been made about finding a replacement for Kyogo. At the same time, one cannot overlook the importance of bringing in someone to take Daniel Cummings' place at the club, with the striker set to join West Ham United this summer. Fortunately, it looks like they have found one.

As reported by Anthony Joseph, Callum Osmand has now completed a medical with Celtic. The 19-year-old has also agreed terms to join the Glasgow club this summer. Fulham will get training compensation.

Osmand is a highly-rated youngster who had impressed in the youth ranks at Fulham. Now, he is set to make the move to Celtic. To be honest, that is a path rarely travelled.

One would imagine that he has been given assurances about his path into the Celtic first-team. That is something that the club have struggled to provide in recent years.

Of course, one should not be negative about a move before it has even happened. But then again, considering Celtic's history when it comes to the development of youngsters, one naturally is a bit pessimistic.

This has nothing to do with the quality of Osmand as a talent though. Last season, he scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 17 Premier League 2 appearances.

That is not all. Osmand was also one of the eight nominees for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season. So, Celtic are definitely bringing in a talent here who might surprise plenty.
