A lot of things are always at play at the same time when it comes to the summer window. Celtic will surely be looking to make additions to their squad in multiple positions. In that aim, they could be helped by other teams across Europe. In fact, it looks like the Hoops are gradually moving towards a windfall that has been expected for a while.
One of the best things that Celtic do when it comes to player exits is negotiate sell-on clauses. And it looks like one or more of them could be at play this summer.
Jeremie Frimpong has been heavily linked with a Bayer Leverkusen exit this summer. A move to Liverpool could be getting closer with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving at the end of his contract.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are seriously pursuing Frimpong. Advanced talks have already taken place. He has a release clause set at around €35 million to €40 million.

It is unclear what Celtic's sell-on clause is when it comes to Frimpong. But some outlets have suggested that it could be as much as 30% of any transfer profit that Bayer Leverkusen make from his departure.
Bayer Leverkusen were believed to have signed Frimpong from Celtic for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £11 million. So, the Hoops could end up receiving more than £7 million from his summer move.
One would imagine that a club like Liverpool would not have much trouble activating Frimpong's release clause. In fact, it does feel like a bargain for a player of his potential.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Frimpong has 30 goals and provided 44 assists in 190 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen so far. Those are stellar numbers for a full-back or wing-back.
In many ways, Frimpong would be the perfect replacement for Trent, thanks to his quality going forward. On the other hand, it looks like the Liverpool player is set to end up at Real Madrid on a free transfer. All of this is good news for Celtic.
