One of the major talking points in Scottish football right now is the impending takeover of the Rangers by the 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh. While that seems to be moving at a glacial pace, at some point, it is expected to go through. Of course, Celtic need to keep an eye on the situation as well and adjust accordingly.

The Ibrox fans seem to be hoping that a change in ownership will solve most of their problems, largely by major investment in transfers. It remains to be seen if those dreams become a reality at some point.

The 49ers Enterprises are already involved in football through Leeds United. And it looks like a former Celtic player is on their radar, as the club get ready to make a return to the Premier League next season.

As reported by TBR Football, Leeds United are one of four Premier League sides interested in Josip Juranovic. Fulham, West Ham United and Burnley are also keeping an eye on the Croatian international.

Juranovic was signed by Celtic in the summer of 2021 and quickly became one of the building blocks of Ange Postecoglou's team, as they returned to the top of Scottish football faster than anybody could have expected. In early 2023, after a superb World Cup campaign, he would move to Union Berlin.

He has stayed with the German club since then and made 62 appearances for them, remaining a regular starter at right-back when fit and available. But after a solid 22/23 campaign, in which they finished 4th in the Bundesliga, the club seem to be moving in the wrong direction. They were 15th last season and 13th in this one. So, is this summer when Juranovic makes a long-awaited move to the Premier League?

We shall find out soon. Those with a keen memory will remember that he was linked with a move to Manchester United, back when he was at Celtic, but that did not end up happening.

At 29 years of age, he should still have a decent bit of top football left in him though. Now, it remains to be seen if a move to the Premier League does end up happening or not and if it does, where will he end up? Considering the connection with 49ers Enterprises, Celtic fans will hope that it is not Leeds United.
