Celtic are a team in supreme form who hold some huge victories this season against clubs like Real Betis, AZ Alkmaar and the Rangers. As a result, they must be confident of their chances against any team at the moment. But at the same time, they must be very wary of the threat that Bodo/Glimt possess.

The back-to-back Norwegian champions are a team to be reckoned with. They hold a 6-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma this season, which goes on to show that on their day, they can end up outplaying top European opposition.

Also, Celtic will know that their second leg away in Bodo is going to be very, very difficult for them, as they will have to travel to Norway in February.

On top of that, it is safe to say that teams who play the second leg of an European tie at home always have an added advantage. Thus, getting past Bodo/Glimt, especially over two legs, is not going to be easy for Celtic.

The advantages that Celtic have

The biggest advantage that Celtic have right now is the fact that the Norwegian season came to an end in December. As a result, while Bodo/Glimt have been in pre-season training and played friendly matches as well, a lot of the players might not be up to match speed right now. And reports have even suggested that they have not been at the top of their games in these friendlies either.

Secondly, Bodo/Glimt appear to have had to let go of a number of their key players in recent times and it will be interesting to see how the club cope without them.

Thus, it looks like the upcoming tie between Celtic and Bodo/Glimt is expected to be very close.
