Ange Postecoglou ready to face biggest Celtic test yet

Ange Postecoglou has had a memorable start to his Celtic career. When he had arrived as the club’s manager in the summer, it is safe to say that it was not the most popular appointment. Despite achieving a lot of success in both Australia and Japan before arriving in Scotland, he was a relative unknown in European football. On the other hand, the Hoops had failed in the pursuit of Eddie Howe, which had made matters more difficult as well.

Less than a year on though and Postecoglou has completely won over the Celtic fans and with good reason. His side have played some very entertaining football but at the same time, they are producing results as well.

Celtic ended their their short but significant trophyless streak, by winning the Scottish League Cup in December, with a brace from Kyogo Furuhashi proving to be the difference in the final against Hibernian. And they also sit at the top of the Premiership right now and are in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Now though, as a result of their performances under Postecoglou, expectations have been raised, while Celtic might be heading towards their toughest test of the season till now.

Celtic are set to take on Bodo/Glimt over two legs in the UEFA Europa Conference League, and it is safe to say that it is one of the toughest ties that the Hoops could have been handed.

Expectations are much higher than they would have been at the start of the campaign though and many even believe that Celtic might be ready to compete for the trophy.

That is going to be very, very difficult, with several top teams still in the competition. In fact, getting past Bodo/Glimt over two legs could be the club’s toughest test of the season till now.
