Who will play at striker if Kyogo is not fit?

It is not just Kyogo that is missing for Celtic at the moment. In fact, they have a lot of injury problems up top, both on the wings and at striker.

Albian Ajeti picked up an injury in the same game as Kyogo, against Real Betis. On the other hand, Giorgos Giakoumakis has never quite managed to remain consistently fit ever since arriving at Celtic and continues to struggle with an injury at this point of time as well, which is expected to keep him out for a few more weeks.

Thus, Celtic might very possibly not have a striker heading into the game against Hibernian. Liel Abada started up front against Ross County and even scored, but he is not a natural there.

And if Abada does start there again, then that raises questions about the wing positions. Josip Juranovic and Adam Montgomery featured there in the previous game.

Thus, Postecoglou will have a lot of selection issues to ponder upon before the game against Hibernian. Let’s hope he can come up with the right solutions.

Injuries are starting to catch up slowly but surely

Celtic have done tremendously well when you consider the situation that they find themselves in right now. But one has to admit that their form is slowly but surely starting to fade away. And that is not a surprise, when you consider the fact that Juranovic, Montgomery, Liam Scales and Anthony Ralston were in the starting XI at the same time against Ross County. Postecoglou just does not have a lot of options available to him right now.

Many of their previous wins have not been about free flowing, fast paced, attacking football. Instead, they have been about their sheer determination to win.

The match against Ross County was a great example of that, as it looked like they were set to drop a couple of points before Ralston came up with a winner deep into stoppage time. But that is not sustainable and won’t happen too many more times.
