Ekrem Konur is a name that Celtic fans must be very familiar with by now. The journalist has been very much on top of things when it comes to news surrounding the club.

We had the opportunity to have a chat with him about Celtic transfer moves, the current situation surrounding Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie, surprise moves and more today.

Ekrem Konur: First, I wish the entire Celtic family a successful season. I hope they achieve the achievements they are aiming for.

There are a lot of rumours surrounding Odsonne Edouard at the moment. Which clubs are interested in signing him this summer?

EK: Odsonne Edouard, especially a favourite of English clubs. Crystal Palace and Brighton are seriously interested. There are teams that have followed Odsonne Edouard and still have no official contact. There are teams from France, Germany and England.

Ryan Christie is another player whose contract will run out soon but he is playing very well in Ange Postecoglou’s system. Is there are a chance he could sign an extension and are there any clubs interested in signing him?

EK: As you said, Ryan Christie fits into Ange Postecoglou’s system. He proved what a right choice he was. Celtic want a contract extension for Ryan Christie. He had some talks with his manager. I don’t know if the player wants to stay but Celtic definitely want to continue with him.

What positions are Celtic looking to sign players in this summer?

EK: Celtic are particularly keen to transfer a right-back. One of the biggest candidates is Buta. There are formal talks with Royal Antwerp.

Could there be any more surprise signings this summer like Kyogo Furuhashi?

EK: Kyogo Furuhashi was a name Ange Postecoglou followed. I hear they have names like Kyogo. A lot of names they analysed from France and Africa. I don’t want to name too many because it’s not a concrete situation. But if there are any serious developments soon, we will share them through you.

We would like to thank Ekrem for giving The Celtic Bhoys his time and having this interview with us.
