Another good option for replacing Jeremie Frimpong would be former Celtic right-back Mikael Lustig, who made 276 appearances for the side between 2012 and 2019. The 34-year-old Swedish international is obviously more on the veteran signing end, but he proved himself a reliable option on the defence during his tenure in Parkhead.

Even at his age, he was still able to keep up with the rigours of Premiership football just two seasons ago, with 44 appearances for the Hoops in his last season there. Currently at AIK in Sweden, he could potentially be pursued on a short loan deal as their season is not set to begin until mid-April.

A less likely option due to his contract at AIK, it would still come as no shock to see Lennon and company pursue a familiar name to the best of their ability in order to fill a gap if Frimpong departs.

Again, he won’t be a long-term solution to the right-back problem. But at least he will fill the void until the club can pursue someone in the summer, which is the most likely course of action at this point of time.
