The Rangers fans have shown their true colours after Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard tested positive last night while away on international duty.

Let’s think back to a few months ago when Celtic had been crowned the champions of Scotland for the ninth straight time on the back of a 13 point lead at the top of the table with just 8 games left to be played. In reality, there was no doubt where the title was headed as the Rangers collapsed following the winter break.

Yet, most Rangers supporters cried out foul when the decision was announced and claimed how Celtic’s title was tainted because all games had not been played. Despite the fact that the situation was out of anybody’s hands and the Hoops’ massive lead at the top of the table warranted a title as the season could not be completed at that point of time.

Just a few months on though and this time around the Rangers fans seem to be calling out for the upcoming Glasgow Derby to be called and for them to be handed all 3 points because of Edouard’s positive test. It does not matter that none of the other Celtic players have tested positive or the fact that there are 10 more days to go before the game is played.

This is not shocking though. They can call Celtic’s league title ‘tainted’ all they want, at the end of the day it was won on the pitch, just like every other title they have ever won. And their recent calls for the derby to be called off just shows how much they care about all the games to be played. May be they only care about it when it suits them.

Whatever may be the case, we can only hope that no more players are infected during the international break and the game goes through as scheduled. While questions also have to be raised against organizing international games in the middle of a global pandemic.
