Talking after the great win over Hibernian, Celtic skipper Scott Brown was disappointed that Albian Ajeti has picked up an injury. Broony did though see a great opportunity for an out of favour star to return to the first team.

There’s a good positive mood around the Celtic camp and supporters as the team clicked back into gear with the emphatic 3-0 home win over Hibernian on Sunday. There’s lots to be pleased about and still a few things to be learned and improved.

Skipper Scott Brown was quoted by the Daily Record after the match. He lavished praise on the team for the performance overall and picked out Jeremie Frimpong and David Turnbull as two of the standouts. Both of course still young players with enormous potential.

Broony was also impressed by the goal scoring form of our new Swiss international striker Ajeti:

"“Albian has done really well, he’s strong, he’s physical, he holds the ball up really well and he’s scoring goals.“It’s just frustrating he’s got injured, especially when he’s just been getting into the groove. We’re fortunate we’ve got great players in attack.”"

Ajeti pulled up immediately after scoring on Sunday, hobbled through his celebration with the team and immediately flagged to the bench that he was struggling. A hamstring and a couple of weeks or so out is the likely prognosis. That does mean missing the Rangers match, but don’t worry there is an answer!

Leigh Griffiths loves a win over the Rangers and has a great track record against them. If Neil Lennon wants a partner for Odsonne Edouard in a two up front pairing, then Griffiths may well be our man, even if for just the start or latter stages initially. Broony is all for that too:

"“We’ve got Griff ready to come back too and the squad’s in a good place just now.“He has been working hard and he knows what’s expected of him.“Everyone knows what he can do on the pitch. His left foot’s a wand and he’s one of the best finishers I’ve ever played with.“So we just need to make sure he’s match fit and get him up to speed as quickly as possible.”"

Of course Lennon has other options, a single striker or bringing in Klimala perhaps. Mohammed Elyounoussi is in goal scoring form again too. And we do know that Griffiths will need time, as Broony says, to get match fit. That comes from playing games, he’s made remarkable comebacks before and hit top form. If we can get a goal scoring Griffiths available that’s got to be good news.

Three things we learned as Celtic beat Hibernian 3-0. light. More
