Neil Lennon has provided an injury update regarding Albian Ajeti and Ryan Christie as the Celtic duo had to come off injured against Hibernian.

Celtic had a comfortable afternoon against Hibernian. The game was expected to be a very tough one for the Hoops as Jack Ross’ side were coming off the back of a 2-2 draw at home against The Rangers.

Celtic faced no such difficulties though as they put in a solid performance to come out with a 3-0 win against a side they have not had the greatest luck against in recent seasons. And while the visitors had their chances to score themselves, it would not be wrong to say that the Hoops were not at the top of their game either as has been the case in most games this season.

While the fans will be delighted with a comfortable win in one of the toughest games of the Scottish football calendar, there were a couple of reasons to worry though as both Albian Ajeti and Ryan Christie had to come off injured.

Ajeti who has been in great scoring form recently, got injured in the process of scoring Celtic’s second goal of the game in the first half. Ryan Christie on the other hand was brought off at half-time.

Neil Lennon has now shed some light on the situation. And while there is good news on one front, the other is not as promising. Speaking with BBC Sportsound (27/09, 17:10) and as transcribed by 67 Hail Hail, the Celtic manager said:

"“Albian looks like he’s tweaked a hamstring. We hope it’s only two or three weeks, but it’s a blow as he’s on great goalscoring form.“Ryan should be okay, he got a bit winded by the challenge for the second goal, but he should be okay for Thursday.”"

Considering the form in which Albian Ajeti has started his career in the Hoops, it is safe to say that the fans will be praying that he is back on the pitch as soon as possible. The Swiss striker seems like an absolute goal-poacher who is currently averaging a goal every 47 minutes in the league.
