As the legendary skipper starts another season there have been some question marks on whether his legs and body can take another season. Sutton reckons Broony will need to be rested at times to help him through the season, which supports the need to retain N’tcham.

"“Let’s be clear here, I’m not saying he’s finished. Far from it. He’s still crucial to the set-up.” “But it also doesn’t mean he should be forced to play 60 games a season. Give him the odd day or night off and that’ll make sure he’s dynamic and full of life for 40 or 45 of them.”"

We all know Broony provides superb leadership on the pitch and has dragged the team through some difficult matches. Sutton points out that signing Duffy means another tough, uncompromising player is now available and offers leadership too. Invaluable support for McGregor as the current stand in captain and someone who will lead by example during games. He’ll not be intimidated on a carpet away at Livingston for example.

Extra strength in midfield, extra leadership, the chance to play 3 at the back with flying forward looking wing backs could all give great opportunities to keep Broony fit with appropriate rests at times. Top winning teams rely on using their squad and players wisely.
