A lot of angry Celtic fans have demanded that the club cut ties with the player as soon as possible after recent events.
It is safe to say that Celtic have not enjoyed the strongest start to the season. After a comfortable win on opening day against Hamilton Academical, they stumbled to a draw against Kilmarnock and managed to find a late winner against Dundee United. And things became much more worse when they crashed out of Champions League qualification after an unexpected defeat against Ferencvaros at home.
Neil Lennon’s comments after the game regarding players wanting to leave raised a lot of eyebrows and although not many supported the manager’s actions, it has emerged since then that Kristoffer Ajer and Olivier Ntcham are indeed looking for a way out out Celtic.
Obviously, this is not ideal considering the importance of this season but on the other hand we cannot afford to have passengers. But while Ntcham has not caught much flak following the revelation owing to his good form, Celtic fans do not seem sad at the idea of letting Ajer go. In fact, a lot of them seem to prefer it:

Celtic cannot let go of Ajer without replacing him though as the fact of the matter is that he is an important part of this team at the moment. And while he has not looked at his best for quite some time now, it might very well be because he wants to leave. Many fans will remember how he looked like the standout player at the club at the start of last season before his form fell off a cliff after transfer rumours emerged.
The problem can be easily solved though by bringing in someone like Shane Duffy, who would very possibly be an upgrade on Ajer. Only time will tell though what direction this transfer saga takes.
