Celtic FC are being linked with another right-back

Celtic are reportedly interested and are linked with another right-back, but the player has also caught the eye of Southampton.
Celtic have been connected to what seems like a dozen players during this summer transfer window. While it can be a bit much or even tough to keep up with one thing is for certain: Celtic are looking to add for 10-in-a-row.
Just a few names Celtic have been connected to (and some signed) are Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti, Shane Duffy, Caleb Ekuban, David Turnbull and now, Sampdoria right-back Bartosz Berezynsk. Italian outlet Il Secolo XIX has both Celtic and English Premiership League-side Southampton pursuing the defender.
The Hoops currently employ Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Abd Elhamed at the position. Frimpong is young and inexperienced but has shown he can be electric when given the chance. Elhamed is much more experienced and a natural, physical right-back. However, he has had injury issues that have led to him not seeing the pitch for the Hoops in any consistent manner.
Berezynsk has the ability to play right-back but also slide over to center if asked, which would work well if Celtic manager Neil Lennon wanted to utilise a 3-5-2 formation. Furthermore, Berezynsk has significant experience playing against top competition in Serie A which could go a long way in helping the Hoops, especially in European competition.
The Hoops cannot leave anything to chance with 10IAR on the line and Rangers are taking steps to ensure that doesn’t happen. The Hoops cannot afford to be complacent, and Peter Lawwell now seems to be taking the necessary measures to ensure that does not occur.
Furthermore, Celtic are perhaps in the best position to make the Champions League Group Stage this season as the matches are one-off instead of ties. Couple that advantage with the club adding to ensure 10IAR and it may just be the perfect recipe for a perfect season.
