Celtic have agreed personal terms with long-term target

Celtic are close to bringing the Premiership star into the club after terms have been reportedly been reached.
Celtic are looking to bring in their third player of the transfer window after having signed goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas and striker Albian Ajeti. Now, they are reportedly close to bringing in Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull which will raise questions as to where he will fit with the club.
Ryan Christie, Scott Brown, James Forrest and Callum McGregor make up a core of players that are unlikely to be supplanted. Toss in Olivier Ntcham and now it begins to get crowded. However, there is no denying that Turnbull would make a great and quality addition to the club.
The Hoops have already once tried to bring in the midfielder when they agreed to terms a year ago but the player failed the signing medical due to a knee injury. Now that the player has fully recovered and proven he can play, the Hoops have re-intensified their pursuit.
According to the BBC’s latest article on the matter, it seems like the deal is close to being done despite Neil Lennon’s “read between the lines” quote. McGregor also seems excited about the prospect:
"“Talks between Celtic and Motherwell over David Turnbull are “ongoing”, according to manager Neil Lennon.“However, Lennon has “no idea” how close the clubs are to reaching agreement.“Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor says the “excellent” Turnbull would be a welcome addition.“Lennon refused to be drawn further on potential transfers, insisting his side’s Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros on Wednesday is too important for “distractions.”"
Lennon brings up a good point in that Ferencvaros should be the main focus, especially considering they will be far tougher than the semi-pro side KR Reykjavik who they beat 6-0 last week. However, negotiations will still be going on behind the scenes and it appears to be only a matter of time before the Hoops get their third man of the window.
