Celtic fans should be delighted after Neil Lennon provided an update regarding the transfer situation right now.

Despite having enjoyed a monopoly over the Premiership for the past several years, Celtic will be looking to bring in a few players with 10IAR up for grabs next season. With such high stakes, there is no scope for slipping up.

One of the positions that they have actively tried to recruit in in the current transfer window is up top. The club currently have Edouard, Klimala and Griffiths after Bayo left to join Toulouse. Thus, the spot for a fourth striker remains empty and a number of players have been linked in recent weeks to fill it.

Albian Ajeti, Steven Fletcher and Lyle Taylor are just some of the players who have been linked with a move to the Scottish Champions. And out of that lot, the Hoops fans will prefer Ajeti.

The Swiss striker scored 37 goals in 75 appearances during his time at FC Basel before completing a move to £8 million but that turned out to be a nightmare and is now looking for a way out of the Premier League. Till recently though a move to Celtic had looked dead in the water after the player had changed his mind at the last moment. It looks like talks are still going on though.

As reported by BBC Sport, Neil Lennon said:

"“I’m not aware of how close we are to doing that.“It may or may not happen, as is the case with a lot of deals. We’re trying to negotiate.”"

Now in this situation, it is expected that Lennon is not going to open up about details. It is great news though that negotiations for Ajeti are still going on. And he might not be the only one:

"It would be good to get a couple more bodies in and then you can name them in the Uefa line-up as well. There’s a mountain of work being done behind the scenes.”"

This can only be viewed as a positive right now in a transfer window where it has been very slow going for the Hoops.
