Celtic legend claims Neil Lennon will be fuming with mistake
Celtic legend Pat Bonner believes that Neil Lennon will be fuming with mistake following Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock.
Well it seems that Celtic has had its first stumble on the road to 10IAR, however, nothing is without its hiccups.
As the old saying goes, ‘a problem can be a stumbling block or a stepping stone for the team going forward.’ Pat Bonner, Celtic legend and now pundit for BBC Sports, gave his opinions on the Scottish giants’ performance today.
Christopher Jullien came in a little rough against Nicke Kabamba, the referee deemed it a foul and a penalty was awarded to Kilmarnock. They made the most of their chance and brought the game to a draw. Celtic manager Neil Lennon might have to have a word about over zealous defence that affords the opposition opportunities to put themselves ahead on the score sheet.
Speaking on Sportscene, Bonner said:
"“Neil Lennon will be so angry that one of his key players has given away a penalty, dragging his man down when there was no real danger.”"
The fans were less than impressed by Jullien’s defending:
The former Celtic player turned pundit was impressed with Christie’s goal in the 11th minute of the game. Without it, the team would have been even further away from 10IAR contention:
"“That was incredible – it was out of nothing. It was so far out I was surprised Christie even took the shot on. Danny Rogers has got to be asking questions of himself.”"
Rangers put on a solid showing this morning and therefore pull ahead of The Bhoys in the race for the title of champions. They put on a stormer against St Mirren this morning.
To get to 10-in-a-row it seems that The Hoops will have to adopt a policy of all gas, no breaks, to beat out hungry teams vying for that top spot. Neil Lennon seems hopeful though, he had this to say about Jullien’s performance:
Do you agree with Pat Bonner? Is he being too critical at such an early stage, or do Celtic really need to take it up a notch? The fans and the pundits are dissatisfied, we will see how Neil Lennon takes it soon enough.
