One Celtic fan pulled off a spectacular prank that managed to fool both Rangers fans and media into believe the baseless Alfredo Morelos story.

At this point it is no secret that the Rangers are desperate to let go off Alfredo Morelos. The same player who was being touted as being worth £50 million by their fans this time last year has somehow fallen to the point where they can’t give him away. It was not too long ago that news broke out that Lille had made a €6 million bid for the Colombian.

Morelos has turned up in training out of shape and does not seem to have much interest in staying at Ibrox for much longer. And you can say that the feeling is mutual as Gerrard has publicly made his discontent with the striker known. They have already brought in Itter and Roofe to replace him. The problem is now finding someone to take the controversial Colombian from them.

Contrary to Ibrox beliefs, Barcelona and Real Madrid have not made the call. But Lille do seem interested according to reports. And a Celtic fan took advantage of this reported interested to troll the Rangers faithful badly.

Changing his Twitter name to Martin Crupeau, a French transfer insider, he tweeted out:

Obviously, the €17 mil fee should have given it away but the Rangers fans got busy celebrating:

Even some of the media believed it:

It was not too long though before the sky fell on their heads as Martin Crupeau was revealed to be a Celtic fan and not a journalist:

That is one of the best pranks we have seen in a while and it is amazing that some many fell for it. But to be very honest, the transfer price should have given the thing away. But desperation makes you believe incredible things.
