Celtic are set to let another of their players leave the club as they continue to let go of players in this transfer window.

The financial effects of the global pandemic means that a number of club do not have the money that they would normally have as their budgets for the season. And while they might be in a much better position than most, Celtic also are not unharmed.

As a result, a large part of the club’s transfer business has involved letting go of players with no immediate future at the club. And the fans have been largely happy with these departures with the exception of Jonny Hayes. For the most part though, Celtic have let go of the deadwood because they do not have the financial luxury that they would normally have.

And now another man is set to join them in the form of Ivory Coast striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo. The 23-year-old had come with a lot of expectations to Parkhead after having scored a 22 goals in 32 appearances for Slovakian club Dunajska Streda. Things though have not clearly worked out for him since then, largely down to injuries as well as poor form.

As reported by BBC Sport, St Mirren has talked to Celtic bringing in Bayo on loan. In fact, they tried to do the same in the January transfer window but failed to do so. But manager Jim Goodwin is still keen on the striker.

Over the past two seasons, he has made just 16 appearances for the Hoops, scoring just 2 times. That is a terrible record for any striker at Celtic and not one single fan will argue that it is time for the club to move on the Ivorian. Especially with Edouard in top form, Klimala looking like great backup and Griffiths hungry to get back in the team as well.
