The good news keeps coming in as Celtic appear to have agreed another deal and the player is set to undergo a medical tomorrow.

It looks like when it rains at Celtic, it certainly pours. Not known for getting their transfer business done quickly, the club gone out and done that exactly this time around. Yesterday news broke out that they had agreed a €5 million deal with AEK Athens for Greek international goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas. And now it looks like he will be closely followed by West Ham United’s Swiss striker Albian Ajeti.

Ajeti joined the Premier League side for a massive £8-million transfer fee after scoring an impressive 37 goals over his 75 appearances for FC Basel. Things have not quite worked out for him in England though as he has not managed to even find the back of the net once during his debut campaign.

As a result, West Ham are keen to let him go and Celtic appear to have swooped in by agreeing a season-long loan deal with an option to buy him for £5 million at the end of the season according to Sky Sports. He will undergo his medical on Wednesday before completing the move. And it is hard not to feel that this is a repeat of when the club grabbed Edouard on loan while Moussa Dembele was still at Parkhead.

Edouard has been constantly linked with a move away from the club and while he looks set to stay this season, it is unlikely that Celtic will be able to hold on to him much longer if he continues to perform like he did last season. As a result, an impressive loan spell for Ajeti could see him becoming the main man at the club next season if they decided to cash in on French Eddy in the next transfer window.

That is a long time away though and the focus right now will be on securing 10IAR next season. And the addition of someone like Ajeti can only help in that conquest.
