Celtic are being linked with a loan move for the Real Madrid wonderkid who has a staggering release clause of €250 million.

Funds for transfers are expected to be low at Celtic next season with the club taking a huge hit in terms of revenue as a result of the global pandemic that has made it impossible for fans to be in attendance for the foreseeable future. As a result, the club could be forced to use loan moves in order to fill some of the gaps that exist in the squad as they look to secure a 10th straight Scottish league title next season.

Fortunately for Celtic, they are an attractive proposition for even the biggest clubs when it comes to loaning players. It is a huge club and as a result the loan players have the opportunity to learn how to cope under constant pressure that comes with professional football at the very top level. They also have a great history of developing players and can offer European football as well.

As a result, they are one of the clubs being linked with Real Madrid’s Japanese wonderkid, Takefusa Kubo. Kubo is currently on loan at Mallorca and has impressed immensely. But if reports in the AS are to be believed then the Spanish giants are now looking to send him out on loan to a club where he can gain European experience:

"Kubo is currently on loan at Mallorca. Real Madrid’s plan is to agree a new destination for the Japanese player, if, as seems likely, he doesn’t make it into the 2020-21 squad as one of the three non-EU players. Madrid are biding their time though, because they are keen for Kubo to not only stay in Spain, but also to get a taste of European football"

Celtic are not alone though as a number of other clubs appear to be interested in the youngster:

"It’s not just PSG. There are at least 29 clubs taking a keen interest in Kubo playing for them: Ajax, Lazio, Milan, Celtic.. and more than 10 teams in Spain alone, among them Real Sociedad and Betis."

Kubo is a player who seems to be one with a bright future ahead of him and it would be a major coup for Celtic if they can manage to bring the midfielder to Parkhead on loan. They can offer him with the chance to play European football as well as being at one of the biggest clubs in the world. And with the club’s recent history of developing stars, what more can Real Madrid ask for?
