Celtic have already made bid for Eredivisie midfielder
Celtic look to be in the market for a new midfielder as they have been revealed to have already launched a bid for the FC Twente star.
Celtic might have just won their ninth straight Scottish league title but they cannot afford to resst on their laurels as they look to secure a historical 10IAR next season. As a result, no holes can be left in the squad and there are certainly a few in there.
Although the league might have been won by some distance by the end, one cannot forget that questions were being raised back in December after the Hoops had been outplayed in both the games that they played against the Rangers in the month. And one of the positions that was being called to improve in was central midfield as there seemed to be a lack of depth there.
Scott Brown and Callum McGregor might be the undisputed starters there but beyond them there does not appear to be many realistic options. The club did bring in Ismaila Soro in January and while he came with a good reputation, he has not even made the bench since then and one can only think that that is a result of failing to impress Neil Lennon during training.
As a result, it looks like club might be looking to improve in the position once again and have already launched a failed bid for FC Twente midfielder Lindon Selahi, according to Twente Insite.
Despite being born in Belgium, Selahi represents Albania at the international level and has already made his senior debut for them. He moved to FC Twente just last season but has impressed in his time there, scoring twice and assisting another in his 26 appearances for the Dutch side.
He still has a year to run on his contract though with the club having the option to renew it for another season. As a result, Celtic will have to make a bid that FC Twente can’t refuse in order to secure the midfielder’s services as they won’t be in any hurry to sell him already.
