A star Celtic player has surprisingly been spotted at Lennoxtown for training despite his loan deal ending at the end of the month.
The player in questions is winger Mohammad Elyounoussi. The Southampton-loanee has been spotted training alongside fellow Celtic first-team members as his loan contract is set to expire at the end of the month, per GlasgowLive. The £16 million winger’s direction remains unknown at this time, but has churned for his Hoops teammates and now it seems the excitement regarding his next move is starting to set in among the fans.
He is a Southampton loanee, like goalkeeper Fraser Forster, but it remains to be seen if Elyounoussi will return to the Saints, remain with Celtic on a permanent basis, or test the waters as a free agent.
With the sudden end to the season due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, we did not see Elyounoussi link up with Southampton again. This muddied the picture a little, but the footage from Lennoxtown seems to suggest he is remaining with The Bhoys for now. Then again, loan keeper Fraser Forster has also made an appearance at the famous training grounds.
This leaves two more loans, Moritz Bauer and Daniel Arzani, out of the equation for now as no new developments regarding the players have been reported.
Elyounoussi signed on as a loan to Celtic FC on August 30, 2019 and got to work immediately, making ten appearances for the Scottish giants and scoring four goals along the way.
Neil Lennon has sung his praises in the past, but there is no mention of the 25-year old staying on at the club as a permanent fixture at the moment. He has endeared himself to his teammates and the fans.
The comments in the video reflect an interest in the Norwegian, and the fans love what the winger brings to the table. He is a man of considerable talent, definitely someone that would tear up the flanks on Celtic’s path to 10IAR, a pioneering achievement.
So the question remains: is Elyounoussi staying with The Hoops? There is clearly interest to keep his type of talent and attitude around. But if not, where will he end up? Give us your opinions in the comments.
