There is an exciting development in the bids for Fraser Forster and Mohammad Elyounoussi as Southampton F.C have had to bow out of the bidding war with Celtic over the premier talent.

Both players have been a part of the team, and Forster in particular played a big part in The Bhoys success in winning a Scottish Premiership, and now Neil Lennon wants a repeat performance with loan Elyounoussi in tow.

Southampton F.C boss, Gao Jisheng, is looking to dispose of his £150 million share in the club, which is quite a low price for such a substantial slice of the pie. The Hoops can bid for the players as The Saints right themselves financially.

Mohamed  Eloyounassi is currently in a five year contract with Southampton worth £16 million, but The Hoops are keeping their eyes open for a chance to swipe the Norwegian up during the summer transfer window. He has been on loan to Celtic since August 2019, but he is definitely worth making a permanent fixture at the club.

Fraser Forster had played for Celtic on loan between 2010-2011 and played well during his brief stint with the club. He capped this time in his career off with a Scottish Cup going to Parkhead. He stayed for another year after that, until The Bhoys made him a member of the club for the transfer fee of £2.2 million from Newcastle United. He moved onto Southampton F.C back in 2014 but with the club in difficulties this could mean a return to the Scottish club for the goalkeeper.

As reported by the Daily Record, Neil Lennon gave his thoughts on the star pairing:

"“We’re hopeful they’ll be around but that’s a conversation we’ll have to have with Southampton and with the players individually.”“We’d want to keep them if we could. It keeps that continuity going rather than maybe going out and bringing other players in.“If we could keep the services of those two, they know how we work and what the club is all about. They made really good contributions. Fraser was absolutely brilliant and Moey, up until the injury, was fantastic.”"

What are your thoughts on the transfer and what do this pairing bring to the table?
