A Celtic star has just reaffirmed his commitment to staying in Parkhead for the long haul in a recent interview.

James Forrest, the 29-year-old Celtic winger, has truly blossomed in recent seasons for the Hoops, netting 16 goals in all play on the abbreviated 2020 campaign, being an integral part of their ninth title run this season.

With the quest for 10 in-a-row coming next season and much uncertainty as to the future of some key pieces from this previous season, fans can at least look forward to the winger’s return.

Having been with the senior squad since the 2010 season, Forrest has had the experience of each of Celtic’s nine titles wins.

In an interview on June 11th with The Herald here is what the Bhoy had to say:

"“I’m 29 in July and want to play for as a long as I can here. You hear about lots of boys leaving and they all say when they go how big Celtic is. As the years go on you do realise that more and more. I just want to keep trying to be a part of Celtic for as long as I can. I don’t know for how long that will be, but I’ll keep trying and I’ll working to do so.”"

Besides the campaign for a tenth-straight title, James can also look forward to playing his younger brother Alan, who signed a deal with SPFL-side Livingston in April for next season. The 23-year old attacking midfielder had spent seven seasons previously with Scottish Championship side Ayr United, scoring 55 goals in 244 appearances for the side that sits 4th in the Championship table on the season currently.

The elder Forrest led the Scottish Premiership in assists this season as well with 14 on top of his 10 goals in league play, while his younger brother had an impressive 10 goals in Championship play this season.

It should be interesting to see how the two match up as Alan makes the jump to the West Lothian club next season, now that James is set to stay in Glasgow.
