Premiership star still dreams of a move to Celtic
One big name player still has dreams of playing for Celtic. But could it actually ever happen?
David Turnbull still has designs on a career move to Celtic, following his recovery from injury. He came close to achieving his dreams last year but it fell through at the last minute due to his injury. The deal was so close to being signed that he even recorded an interview with Celtic TV, where he sat beside manager Neil Lennon in a Hoops jersey.
Celtic offered a whopping £3.25 million to sign him from Motherwell back in June, it was set to be a four-year deal. With that offer now off the table, it seems like Celtic will offer a lot less for the midfielder.
The 20-year old is still in the eye line of the Bhoys, he has been a standout on the pitch in such a short window of time before the novel coronavirus resulted in shutdown. He was out for seven months while recovering from his knee surgery, but managed to squeeze out two strong performances before the world grounded to a halt.
He signed a 12-month extension with Motherwell, but he is still pursuing the coveted Green and White jersey. Last season, Turnbull scored 16 goals and set up 7 assists, all in a 34 match span.
It is certainly encouraging for Celtic, that of the 16 goals Turnbull scored, 15 goals were scored in the SPL. He could become a serious asset in the push for 10IAR, to take part in such a historic event would appeal to the young player. With Olivier Ntcham looking to move on from the Hoops we could see the Motherwell midfielder at Parkhead after this summer transfer window.
Celtic are now looking to draw up a new deal according to Football Insider 247 to snag the young player from Motherwell, on the condition that he is healthy and ready to start once the freeze on football is lifted. He has drawn his dream team in, with a little more evidence it would not be a stretch to see David Turnbull signed on this summer.
