Odsonne Edouard appears to have finally confirmed his intentions for next season when Celtic will challenge for a historic 10-in-a-row.

For months now, it has been debated whether Odsonne Edouard will be staying at Celtic or look for a move away from Parkhead. Having scored 27 goals and assisted a further 19 in just 45 games for the Hoops last season, a number of big clubs were interested in signing him and understandably so. And with just 2 years left on his contract, time was not on the side of the Scottish champions.

Losing Edouard at this stage would have been catastrophic though as he is an integral part of this Neil Lennon’s squad and it would be incredibly difficult for the club to replace him with a player of his quality. As a result, everyone associated with the club was hoping that the Frenchman would be staying on for at least one more season, so that he could help Celtic win a historic tenth straight Scottish league title.

Now it appears that is exactly what will be happening in some great news for Celtic fans. Speaking with Celtic TV, it appeared that the Frenchman was fully concentrated on securing 10IAR next season and a move away from Parkhead was the last thing on his mind at this point of time:

"“Every season we want to win the title.“This year is nine in-a-row and next year I hope it is 10 in-a-row. This will be historic for the club.“It’s very important for the club, for the fans, for the team, for all of the staff.“We now need to go back to work for next season and I hope that we can win this title for 10 in-a-row.”"

Although he had never come out and admitted to it publicly, it had always looked like Edouard was always interested in being a part of history by helping the Hoops to a 10IAR. Neil Lennon had already confirmed that contract talks were underway between the club and the Frenchman. And now the fans can breath a sigh of relief with French Eddy staying with for the foreseeable future. Here we go 10-in-a-row.
