One promising Celtic player may be on his way out the door as reports have surfaced that his original club wants him to return.

Players come and go, some never quite live up to expectations like Calvin Miller, and others like fan favourites still take their leave like Jonny Hayes. It is just football business. Now, there are rumours that one Celtic player that hasn’t quite stuck with the squad is wanted back at his original club.

The player in question is Maryan Shved who only made three appearances totaling 40 minutes in the 2019/2020 campaign. He did score one goal, and as such the Celtic faithful wanted to see more out the young player. Unfortunately he was never really given a chance to prove himself on the pitch outside of practice and training.

It remains to be seen if Hoops manager Neil Lennon has any plans for Shved next season, but the writing on the wall points in another direction. Now, Shved’s former club Karpaty Lviv reportedly want him back according to The Scottish Sun. Apparently Karpaty Lviv is ready to strike if the Hoops allow Shved to move.

Shved has proven he has talent, and a great pedigree. It is a shame he was never fully given the chance to succeed like many expected him to be given. Instead, he may be just another player to have walked through the doors of Parkhead to just turn around and walk back out without having left much of a trace. It’s just the nature of business in football. And Celtic is quite good at it.
