Kris Boyd makes incredible claim about Celtic ‘problems’
Kris Boyd continues to make ridiculous claims about Celtic in order to please the Rangers supporters and this latest one is no different.
Celtic have won the last night Scottish league titles, equaling the all-time record in the process and will be going for ten-in-a-row next season. One would believe that that would make them the overwhelming favourites as they are quite clearly the best football team in the country and by some distance.
That has never stopped a portion of the media from trying to downplay the incredible achievements of the Hoops or make it appear that the Rangers are much closer in quality to the team than they actually are. And one man who does it on a more consistent basis than anyone is Kris Boyd.
The ex-Rangers man has continued to make ridiculous claims about how his former club and their imminent return to the top of Scottish football. Unfortunately for Boyd, that has never come but not for the lack of trying from his side.
Every off-season though, the Rangers fans are back with renewed hope whenever the Ibrox club makes a big money signing. Last year it was Ryan Kent, who went on to be an absolute flop after Rangers paid £7 million for him. And now it seems to be the turn of Ianis Hagi.
Kris Boyd believes it is the signing of Hagi that could turn the tide of the Scottish Premiership in Rangers’ favour. Speaking on Sky Sports and as reported by the Daily Record, he said:
"“He’s a throwback in terms of driving forward and asking the defenders questions. When you’ve got someone like that who will thread balls through, strikers will thrive off it. It’s important that they build a team around players like Hagi to get the core of the team from the defence right through to the strikers.“There’s no doubt in my mind that can cause Celtic problems next season.”"
Hagi arrived on loan at Ibrox in January and in 12 appearances, he scored 3 goals and provided one assist. Apparently that was enough for Steven Gerrard’s side to shell out £5 million for the 21-year-old and for their fans to proclaim him as the saviour of their club.
Let’s just say, no Celtic fan is losing sleep.
