One Celtic star could be in for a huge payday as the club ponders how to best use its resources to chase the 10-in-a-row.

Some stars come and some stars go, this is the norm during the summer transfer window. Celtic are pushing for that 10-in-a-row, a chance to make history that will not be topped for quite sometime. The Hoops are pulling out all the stops, and have been signing new talent left to right, but it seems like they will be losing talent too in the form of Frenchman Olivier Nctham.

The Saints have been struggling financially, which has resulted in them selling off their stars and having to do it for less. This has resulted in clubs lining up to poach the top talent and the Bhoys are no exception. They are interested in the highly touted Norwegian, Mohammad Elyounoussi and Fraser Forster who are currently under contract with Southampton. A part of me believes that this will factor into negotiations somehow. Both lads are signed to The Bhoys on a loan basis but that could change during this transfer window.

They have wanted to set up Forster as a permanent member of the team for quite some time, but the £70,000 a week keeps the goalie at Southampton.

Contract negotiations are going well for Nctham, who was signed with Celtic F.C. for £4.5 million back in 2017, but now it seems that Southampton are offering him double his money according to Football Insider. He is set to be a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The 23-year old is not high up on Celtic’s list of top earners, with the best of them earning roughly £35,000 per week. The asking fee for Nctham is £12 million for the Frenchman. He has been crucial in many games, starting 17 matches in the team’s most recent SPL run. He has appeared in 123 games for the club and has scored 23 goals and set up 11 assists.

What will the eventual outcome of negotiations with Southampton be?
