Celtic have reportedly already identified a replacement for Kristoffer Ajer as he looks to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.

Not many players would pass up the opportunity to be a part of history next season when Celtic challenge for 10IAR – a feat that has never been achieved in Scottish football. But Kristoffer Ajer seems to be the type of player who would.

Earlier in the season, Ajer’s representative announced that the Norwegian was looking for a move away from the club in the summer transfer window. And he has been continuously linked with a move to Leicester City, where he will get the chance to reunite with Brendan Rodgers.

A possible transfer fee that has been thrown around is £25 million. And to be honest, a transfer bid in that range might be too much for Celtic to not accept.

Ajer seemed like the standout player at the start of the season but his form had since fallen off to the point where many fans were considering him to be a liability at the back. Now that could very well be due to the fact that mentally he already had one foot out of the Parkhead door. But whatever may be the case, £25 million is a huge sum of money and it could very well allow Celtic to hold on to Odsonne Edouard, clearly the more important of the two players.

And it looks like Celtic are already preparing for life without Ajer. Belgian outlet Le Soir are linking the Hoops with Waasland-Beveren defender Aleksandar Vukotic.

Standing at 6′ 7″, the Serbian is a giant of a man and should not have any problem coping with the physicality of Scottish football. He is the most expensive player in the history of the Waasland-Beveren and still has a contract with the club that runs till 2023, but their relegation from the Belgian First Division means that he will be available on the transfer market.

Vukotic can form an absolute wall in the heart of defence with Jullien. And if Ajer does indeed leave, there is much worse Celtic can do than signing the Serbian giant as a replacement.
