Celtic star told to quit club in order to save his career
One Celtic star has been told to quit the club in order to save his career after he has seen opportunities hard to come by at Parkhead.
It is hard to make it to a club the size of Celtic and even harder to make a mark there. A number of players find that out when they move to Parkhead and one such player is Jack Hendry.
Hendry spent a large portion of his youth career at Celtic but would leave before he could turn professional and instead got his break at Partick Thistle. And the potential he showed there was enough to get him signed to Wigan Athletic. Later on he would return to Scotland by moving to Dundee FC. His performances there managed to catch the eye and he would soon get a call up to the national team.
And soon he would complete a move to Celtic in what was surely a dream come true for the centre back, with many believing him to be a future star at Parkhead. Unfortunately things have not quite turned out as expected. Hendry has failed to make an impression in the last two years and was let go on loan to Melbourne City FC earlier in January. But as fate would have it,the Scot suffered an injury that would require surgery in only his second appearance for the club.
And Alex Bruce that the defender must leave Parkhead in order to save his career. As reported by the Football Insider, he said:
"“The one thing I would say to anyone who’s at a big club and not playing is there’s always lesser clubs you can go and play for.“When you’re playing and playing games, that’s when you can be judged. When you’re sitting at a club like Celtic and you’re not playing – it’s like the lad who I was at Wigan with, Jack Hendry.“You think it’s better to go and play for a club like Celtic and sign and you don’t play, you get your head down and all the rest of it. There’s always life, especially when you’re at a good age like he is, to go and prove yourself somewhere else. Don’t be afraid of taking a step down to come back again.’"
It is unlikely that Hendry is going to get many chances at Celtic in the future. Thus, it might be in the best interest of both parties if the Scot is able to find a club where he will be given regular opportunities and who will pay the Hoops a satisfactory transfer fee.
