Celtic have reportedly received a major boost in their quest to keep Odsonne Edouard at Parkhead for the next season when they go hunting for ten-in-a-row.

It looks like nine-in-a-row is finally in the bag for Celtic. It has been a long process but it appears that the Rangers have ultimately given up their futile fight to prevent the Hoops from being crowned champions – a title that they have earned and completely deserve.

After the Ibrox side’s resounding defeat at the EGM meeting earlier this week, it looks like only a matter of time before Celtic lift their ninth straight league title. Whether that is on the pitch or not still remains to be seen, with a number of leagues planning their return to football over the next month. But the ‘null and void’ agenda is finished, once and for all.

The next thing on every Celtic fan’s mind will be ten-in-a-row – a feat that has never been achieved in Scottish football. And if the Hoops to manage to get it, there is a good chance that it will never be repeated in the future. It is well and truly the holy grail.

For that though, the club will need to keep this league-winning juggernaut together. Unfortunately, one man who continuously linked with an exit is Odsonne Edouard. But it is pretty clear that letting the Frenchman leave ahead of such an important season would be a mistake – one that the Hoops must avoid at all costs.

Thankfully, they have been handed a major boost in that pursuit. While speaking on the Transfer Podcast, pundit Ian McGarry said:

"“His representatives say he doesn’t want to go to a club where he’s second or third choice — money is not the be all and end all at this point in his career.”"

Well if first-team football is what Eddy wants, we know a club where he will get it in abundance – Celtic. To be honest, for as good as Edouard is, it is hard to see him go to Arsenal and immediately start ahead of the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette.

The Frenchman has been a huge part of this side, having had a hand in 46 goals this season. And hopefully the chance to be a part of history will convince him to stay on, at least for one more season.
