The Liverpool superstar admitted that he would like to play for Celtic one day before hanging up his boots.

For those who question the ability of Celtic to attract the biggest players on the planet, this might come as a shocker. But Liverpool superstar and Scotland national team captain Andy Robertson has admitted that he would like to play for Celtic before eventually hanging up his football boots one day.

It is not surprising or even hard to see why he would want to do so. The Glasgow-born Robertson grew up supporting Celtic and even spent a portion of his youth career on the club’s books before being let go for apparently being too ‘small’. It is safe to say that the people who took that decision must regret it every day of their lives as Robertson has developed into a genuine global superstar.

Since joining the Merseyside giants from Hull City, the Scottish full-back has lifted the UEFA Champions League and is very likely to lift the Premier League title this season after helping them to a commanding lead at the top of the table. And he has established himself as one of the if not the best full-back on the planet.

Robertson though clearly remains a Celtic fan at heart and still hopes to pull on the Hoops one day. When asked about the possibility of a move to Parkhead in the future, the Liverpool star said on BBC’s That Peter Crouch Podcast:

"“I’d love to pull on the Celtic top and walk out at Parkhead.“Do I want to go back at one point to even just live? Yeah, maybe.”"

It would be incredible to have Robertson at Parkhead. But that move is clearly a long time away even if it does happen someday. His contract with Liverpool runs till 2024. But if he is still fit at that point in his career, on form and intends to head to Celtic before retiring, we will welcome him with open arms.
