One Celtic star has made an exciting claim about Odsonne Edouard’s Parkhead future, who has been constantly linked with a transfer away from the club.

It is no surprise that Odsonne Edouard is a man in demand. The Frenchman has scored 27 times and assisted 19 further in just 43 appearances this season – more than a goal every game! Thus, even the biggest clubs in Europe are interested in his services. And with Celtic’s history of selling their best players in the recent past, the Hoops fans are rightfully about losing the striker.

Edouard’s contract with Celtic runs out in 2022 and they find themselves in a sticky situation. It is likely that they will be crowned champions this season, whether it is when the league is declared finish as things stand or if they are able to play out the rest of the games. This will be their ninth straight league title and next season they have the opportunity of winning the holy grail – 10IAR.

Thus, losing Odsonne Edouard before such an important campaign would be a huge blow to Celtic. But then not selling him in the coming summer would mean that he would be in the final year of his contract and risk losing out on a huge transfer fee for the Frenchman. Thus, they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Christopher Jullien though believes that his fellow countryman has no interest in leaving Celtic. As reported by The Sunday Post, the defender said:

"“I’m sure he will stay. He is silent, he hides what he is feeling and he is someone who controls his emotions. But he is a really good guy, trust me. He is quite happy here.“He is a good player and one day he will have a lot of clubs interested in him, but he is in a really good place right now with Celtic.“I enjoy playing with him and I want him to stay for as long as he can. That would be unbelievable for everyone at Celtic. He is in a really good place.”"

One can only hope that the chance to be a part of history by being a part of the ten-in-a-row will see Edouard end up staying for Celtic. The best case scenario would be for him to sign a contract extension with a gentleman’s agreement that the club will let him leave in the future if he wants the move or by putting in a release clause.
