Chris Sutton has reacted to the SPFL being found not guilty of any corruption or bullying with regards to Dundee’s vote, contrary to Rangers’ claims.

For some reason, the Rangers failed that it was a good idea to go all out and accuse the SPFL of corruption and bullying after Dundee decided to vote in favour of the motion to bring an end to the three lower leagues of Scottish football so that the prize money could be paid out to the clubs in financial need.

Common sense suggests that most clubs would have wanted that. At the end of the day, there is no denying that Scottish teams do not possess the financial strength of more globally popular leagues like that of England, Spain, Germany, etc. Thus, with all football suspended for the foreseeable future, it is no surprise that most of them are struggling financially to make ends meet.

Even Celtic has been forced to furlough employees so that the club remains in a stable financial condition. And it is safe to say that the Hoops are in a better condition that most if not all other clubs in the country.

So it was a no-brainer that most of them would like the injection of cash right now. At least those with no danger of being relegated or as in the case of the Rangers, those whose cross-city rivals are not about to be crowned champions.

Of course, the Ibrox side had their own conspiracy theories. They accused the SPFL of bullying and corruption, calling for the suspension of Neil Doncaster in the process. They claimed that they had evidence proving it. And they also wanted an independent investigation into the voting process. A lot of demands!

Ironically, the SPFL themselves ended up commissioning an independent investigation into the controversial Dundee vote. And as expected, they were not found guilty of any wrongdoing. Another one of a long list of Rangers’ mistakes in recent memory.

And one man who had something to say about it was Chris Sutton. The former Celtic man tweeted out:

As only Chris Sutton can. Long live Big Chris!
